Final Inspection for the FIS Freestyle Ski World Championship in Inawashiro
The final inspection took place at the Inawashiro Town General Gymnasium, “Camerina”, on October 28. More than 100 officials and staff who will be involved during the Championships gathered together and inspected many cases which might be occurred during the event.
Before the Inspection, FIS Freestyle coordinator Mr. Joe Fitzgerald said, “We have 125 days, about three months to go. It is important to gather all the different working groups and to work in cooperation. This kind of rehearsal with all of you is the last one before the actual competition in March. Working in collaboration is essential for the success of the Championships.”
The first half of the inspection was spent to go through details from preparation phases before competitions, such as team arrival to the bib distribution prior to the race. And then went through the simulation of the March 2nd which the Opening Ceremony will be held, from course preparation to the start of the qualification, including the spectator guidance and dealing with troubles.
Moreover, participants watched the video of the ski cross World Cup which was held here in Inawashiro in 2007 and discussed the basic operation of the ski cross event.
For the latter half of inspection, participants moved to the Inawashiro ski area, where the actual race will be taken place. Went through all the procedures of the finish zone including the Flower Ceremony and operations in the mix zone.
